I was speaking with this gentleman on last week and he gave me on the greatest health tips I ever heard! For the longest African Americans have been taught to "live to eat" versus “eat to live” Awesome piece of info, right? Find those physiological techniques needed to diet appropriately! Do your research when finding foods to put in your temple. Yes lawd It tastes good, but is it good for you?
Self-care is one’s own individualized practice of health management without the aid of a medical professional. It is deliberate, self-initiated, and purposed for the maintenance of your health and well-being. Although there are various types of self-care such as physical, social, mental, emotional, and spiritual, we will focus on emotional and spiritual.
Once you have relaxed your mental and emotional state of mind for the day. Here are 5 tips to help in balancing self-care
- Take a moment, recreate your environment/surroundings such as; burn a candle to ease your mind and tension.
- Take a few minutes away from the noise and distractions, relax and listen to calming nature sounds such as soothing "Sounds of the Heart".
- Low pace exercises that you can do at home to ease tension and sore muscles. There are multiple social media videos you can research.
- Exercise on a consistent basis and practice proper water intake to provide fuel to your cells and system.
- Know your emotional and mental boundaries and stick with them, they are important.
Preservation is key! Start now while you can, versus being forced to later in life. Do not allow years of traditional habits to be your downfall. Inspire your self care.
